Courtenay/Comox
Cortenay/Comox is a beautiful big valley on the east coast of Vancouver Island. Glacier view, ocean view. Ocean and Comox Lake provide opportunities for sports like kayaking, diving, boating, etc. Mt. Washington and Forbidden Plateau offer good skiing in the winter, and hiking, etc. in the other seasons.

Gay Life
The lesbian community has bi-weekly women's coffee houses, and dances from time to time. The Women's Resource Centre offers information and opportunities to meet people. For the guys there are community dances where everyone is welcome and sexual preference indicated by one's choice of dance partner seems to matter little or none. Nice community; very little employment.
