Owen Sound
Owen Sound is situated on Georgian Bay, and is a great site for hiking, camping, swimming, birding, and other outdoor pursuits. The Niagara Escarpment runs through it, from Niagara Falls to Tobermory at the tip of the Bruce Peninsula. Hiking trails are easily accessed here.

Gay Life
Although not particularly gay positive, there is a gay and lesbian presence which once one taps into it, is very supportive. The municipal pastime is drinking coffee, which has recently been made more pleasant with the addition of a coffee bar in the back of a local book-store. Positive atmosphere in both parts of that. An easy drive to Toronto, London, Kitchener-Waterloo. Very scenic.
