Sault Ste. Marie
Sault Ste. Marie is located on St. Mary's River near where Lakes Superior, Michigan and Huron meet, and also is on the TransCanada Highway. The International Bridge from the city leads south into Michigan, U.S. and is a popular crossing point for visitors travelling into Canada or the U.S.. With a population around 83,000 of a varied cultural mix the "Soo" (as it is affectionately known is renowned for its' Bon Soo Winter Carnival each February; is home to Roberta Bondar Canada's first woman in space, and the famous Agawa Canyon Tour train. The Searchmont Valley Ski Resort about a 40 minute drive north of the city is Northern Ontario's largest downhill and cross country resort and is a popular vacation destination for many. With the beautiful scenery and fresh air this is a place well worth visiting!
