Chat Room Etiquette
  1. Become familiar with the Chat. Once you have logged into the chat you will arrive at "Overhere/GayCanada Chat." Your computer toolbar will have four items added to the right: "Places", "Options", "Around GayCanada", and "Help". When you click on "Help", two submenus will appear: "Help Contents" and "Chat Guide" which offer information on using the chat and features of the chat.
  2. Avoid referring to users by their real names.
  3. Allow all users to make comments and ask questions. Don't try to take control of the room by flooding it with your own entries.
  4. Avoid direct confrontations with rude users. Either place the user/s on ignore (Chat Guide explains how to do this); report the occurrence to a GayCanada Representative if one is on line or through a Help Desk Ticket including a copied an pasted text of the offending chat; or leave the chat room.
  5. Don't abuse other users with threats, unwanted sexual comments or anything else that might make them uncomfortable.
  6. Don't use derogatory or foul language.
  7. Don't advertise sex based content web sites..
  8. To get the feel for the chat room you have entered, first observe the room without making any entries for a while before offering your own comments.
