A New Journey

Tone Cluster's 14th queerer-than-ever season has finally started. All our Tone Cluster singers were looking forward to finding out how our Music Director Jane Perry has artistically planned yet another best concert season ever. Now that the singers have seen the lineup of musical treats that Tone Cluster will share with its audience, they just can't wait to sing for you.

This 14th musical journey involves Tone Cluster's traditional participation with the Ottawa-Gatineau community in the AIDS Walk for Life on September 22 and World AIDS day on December 1st.

Before getting there and after Remembrance Day, in collaboration with Bruce House, on November 24, Tone Cluster will bring you a concert of remembrance for victims of both war and HIV/AIDS, "Remembering You". This concert will certainly have some somber tones, and will also sparkle with gratitude for the lives of the lost ones and hope for the future. For this event, Tone Cluster is delighted to share the stage with National Arts Centre musicians Karen Donnelly at the trumpet and Marjolaine Laroche at the double bass.

Spring 2008 in choral Ottawa will be brightened by Tone Cluster's first folk music concert with "Queer as Folk (Music!)", featuring the music of Leonard Cohen, Ron Sexsmith, Connie Kaldor. Our special guest will be the Ottawa Folklore Centre choir, "Folka Voca", conducted by Lee Hayes.

By popular demand, Ottawa's best musical extravaganza is coming back with the third edition Tone Cluster's Show Tune Showdown. Three teams of Ottawa's most talented show tune performers will friendly compete to win the votes of our three celebrity judges and the title of Show Tune Showdown 2008 Champion.

"Miami and Other Vices" will conclude our performance season here in Ottawa. In that show, Tone Cluster will perform its greatest hits.

Once again, Tone Cluster is looking forward to sharing its love of music with you. We hope you, your friends and loved ones will join Ottawa's own queer choir in this new journey filled with beautiful harmony. Thank you for your support.
