On August 1st  WRIB welcomed a new Board of Directors for the 2004-2005 term.  The majority of the Board and administrative volunteers have stayed on for another year.   We welcome back a well known WRIBer Vona Smith as Social Director and give a huge WRIBbble to Lorie Beattie our new Communications Director. It is with great pleasure that I present your new Board for 2004 - 2005.

• Double our membership by end of 2005
• Increase WRIB's profile in the community
  Obtain sustainable funding for our own independent web domain
• Develop corporate sponsorships
• Develop partnerships with local business for member discounts
• Pursue funding and grants for programming needs
• Foster relationships with other community groups through joint ventures
• Leave WRIB healthy and have fun!

Yes, it's a big agenda, and help to get there is always appreciated.  The Board positions of Business Networking Co-ordinator and Director-at-large are still open and we always need more volunteers and event hosts.  I encourage you to get involved - this is your club.  Your help makes the difference.

VICE CHAIR:
Victoria Glencross has been in the Funeral Service Industry as a Funeral Director, Embalmer and Advance Planner for many years. Her vast experience in business comes from her studies in business and marketing, and previous career as an Independent Financial Broker. Victoria is currently enrolled with the Ontario College of Homeopathic Medicine studying for her Homeopathic Doctor's designation.  Victoria is very much looking forward to her position as Vice Chair and creating an atmosphere within our membership of unity, inclusiveness and pride. Victoria will continue overseeing the coordination of the volunteers.

Victoria is very involved in the community:

• Member of the Women's Health Network;
• Presents regularly to communities on funeral and estate planning;
• Volunteers with Palliative Care Units (specializing in children's grief);
• Volunteers at Nursing Homes to provide care and support to geriatric residents;
• Victoria also specializes in aftercare services within the death care industry, settling of estates and death taxes.

Victoria feels strongly for community and giving back, and looks forward to a wonderful term as Vice Chair giving to the women's community and making a difference.

As a long standing member of WRIB I am happy to be back at the helm and as most of you know I've been in this position before, no pun intended. I love WRIB and want to keep this an organization that is open to all women no matter what shape, color, or size all women are welcomed. WRIB has done 100's of events over the past years, we plan on doing the same in the up and coming years and we hope that you will keep attending them.

Most of you know my background involves working with people in the customer relation's field and I have enjoyed doing this for the past 30 years. I'm a people person and getting to know you is my forte, so if you're interested in getting to know more about Wrib and what Wrib stands for why not drop me a line or two and be careful as you may start a long lasting friendship. :-)
