Hike and Pancake Breakfast at the Kortright Centre

Throughout the winter, WRIB's hiking guru, Gisele, has been leading a series of
explorations of the Bruce Trail and other great locations. This time, it's going
to be the Kortright Centre. A highlight of this event will be a delicious pancake
breakfast -- yum!

Join us for a terrific day in the great outdoors! Suitable for all experience
levels. Non-members are invited to join us. Wear good hiking foot-gear, and dress
to the weather.

Cost: shared gas.
We thank all willing drivers for their courtesy.

Singles-Only Dinner

THEME: "Saucy and Sassy"

Deadline for registration: April 15 (firm!)

Members: free admission
Non-members: $2.00 registration fee
(payable at the dinner)

The Valentine's Singles Dinner was a blast -- and we had 45 super Singles in
attendance! Did you miss it? Well, never fear, here's your chance again. Your
lovely host, Susan C, and her equally lovely co-host, Susan P, invite you to join
them for an unbelievably fabulous evening with an unbelievably fabulous group of
Singles. As always, there'll be an icebreaker game, wonderful prizes, and all the
other stuff and nonsense you've grown to know and love -- and we do it all just
for you Singles!

We're always working to keep the dinners fresh and exciting, and to that end, the
April dinner will have a theme -- "Saucy and Sassy." Dress to the theme, act the
part ... mild, medium, or (ooh-la-la!) piquante ... it's up to you. Or just show
up as you are and enjoy the fun!

And remember, the first person to send in her RSVP will win a prize. Unbelievably
fabulous!

We'll be dining in a central location, and full details will be provided to
guests when they RSVP. Because the Singles Dinners are so popular (we usually
have 40 or more in attendance), we can't accommodate "surprise" guests, and RSVPs
are required for this event. Remember, the registration deadline is April 15.
This is firm. We mean it. Really. No amount of pleading, begging, or outrageous
bribery will get you in after that (although a KitchenAid stand-mixer, blue, with
all the attachments, just might do the trick).

Admission to this event is FREE for members. Well, you have to pay for your meal
and drinks, of course. Non-members pay a toonie ($2.00) registration fee.

Movie: Big Fish

Description:
Albert Finney's wonderful performance as a dying Southerner propels this
sprawling fable as much as Tim Burton's magical eye. Billy Crudup is Finney's son
who wants to reconcile his father's tall tales with the truth so that he can
reconcile himself with his father. Ewen McGregor is the charming version of
Finney's younger self who inhabits the tales. Jessica Lange is the grown-up
version of Alison Lohman, his ideal girl. Throw in Helena Bonham Carter, Danny
DeVito and Steve Buscemi as larger-than-life figures and you've got one of the
most enjoyable movies of the year. Nobody, that's NO-body, can spin a yarn like
Albert Finney. (USA 2003) 125 min.
