______________________________________________________
50 First Dates:
Movie Profile Arctic marine life veterinarian Henry Roth has his future all
mapped out. When he's not tending to the sea animals at Sea Life Park in
Hawaii, he is breaking the hearts of mainland tourists in search of a
vacation romance. A long-term relationship for Henry is out of the question.
It would scuttle his 10-year dream of sailing to Alaska to study the
underwater life of walruses. Henry is close to making his dream come true
when his schooner, the Sea Serpent, suffers a mishap during a trial run,
which lands him at the Hukilau Cafi where the regulars eye him with
distrust when he sets his eyes on one of its patrons, the beautiful young
Lucy Whitmore. Henry is immediately smitten with Lucy, and after a first
chat with her about waffles and sea mammals, Henry finds himself more
and more interested in Lucy. Ignoring his own rule about dating local girls,
he makes a date to meet her for breakfast the next day. But when he
arrives and makes a reference to their previous conversation, she thinks
he's some kind of freak and calls for help. Lucy has no idea who he is. And
Henry realizes that if he wants to win her affections, he's going to have to
start over again every day for the rest of his life.-

TAKING THE FEAR
OUT OF THE GYM !!
FREE to WRIB Members and their
friends!
Place: Jump Fitness Women's gym
Location: 909 Pape Ave, on the east side
of Pape, just south of Mortimer Ave.
Hosts: Carol Pasternak, Susan McLachlin and
Audrey Kouyoumdjian
I remember my first day at the gym.
I hated it. I went in by myself. It was a cold,
massive place that looked like it was designed to warehouse heavy
machinery. In fact, it was. Dozens and dozens of odd looking weight
machines, with bulky guys grunting and heaving. What was I doing
there? I didn't know how to use that stuff, and I was embarrassed
to use the tiny dumbbells I was used to. I went home and lifted
in the comfort and safety of my bedroom.
This doesn't have to happen to you.
Your first gym experience will be a fabulous one.
It will be free. Your friends will be there. You'll
enjoy free refreshments, take a sauna and/or whirlpool, learn to
use the weight machines, free weights, and cardio equipment. Have
lots of time to work out and practice. I am a Certified Personal
Trainer; I will guide you, motivate you, and answer all your questions.
As an added bonus, our resident Physiotherapist, Audrey Kouyoumdjian
will teach you how you can alleviate your neck and back pain in
less than two minutes a day!!! This alone is worth the trip to the
gym!
This gym is for women only.
Relax. Dress down. Make some new friends, maybe
even find a training partner.
I've never seen an opportunity like this to
spend an afternoon at the gym. Don't miss out. Call your friends
now, and mark your calendar. RSVP, before someone takes your spot.

FESTIVAL CINEMAS
MOVIE NIGHT
Festival Movie Event
Another chance to see all those movies you missed the first time
at a reduced cost!
Movie: Elephant
Description:
The biggest of the three double barrel winners at Cannes.
Elephant is a poetic evocation of a couple of autumn days in an
American highschool that culminates in violence. Van Sant takes
us deep into the interconnected worlds of several disparate students
as they go about their typically intense adolescent lives - but
he does it from multiple perspectives. Because we see the same events
through the eyes of each participant, we feel an intimacy with them,
making the climax all the more shocking.
Playing at the Festival Cinemas Cost:
Festival Members: $6.00
Festival Non-Members: $8:00
Seniors: $4.00 - no membership required
Festival Membership Card: $3.00 - Valid for 6 months from date of
purchase
